Mind Stropping
A strop is a strip of leather used to take the burrs off the edge of a straight razor—restoring its perfect, clean edge. It’s soft. Subtle. Unlike a grindstone, which fundamentally reshapes the blade, a strop is for smoothing out the imperfections that remain after the real work is done.
This week, that’s what I’m doing with my brain.
I’ve started three different articles for this Substack. And to be honest, they sucked.
What I’m not going to do is waste your time with something slapped together just to hitch a ride on your already over-leveraged attention span.
And since I actually write everything you read here—I won’t be using ChatGPT to do my dirty work, either.
All of this is to say: I’m taking the week off.
I’m going to regroup and share only that which provides value to you, dear reader.
With that said, have a great weekend. I’ll see you next week with something of value to add.
For now, I’ll get stropping.
Thanks for reading,
Rob
Check out this amazing review for my book Check Engine Light (Out June 17!)
“In the relentless drive of high performance, it’s easy to overlook the warning signs until something breaks. Slowing down requires courage, especially when pushing through is second nature. As a client of Rob’s, I’ve experienced firsthand how his straightforward approach helps you recognize those critical moments. Check Engine Light is your guide to staying in the fight—and staying whole while doing it.”
