The Check Engine Light focuses around the primary target of achieving performance longevity. Performance longevity refers to the ability do our very best at any given endeavor for as long as possible. The articles included in your subscription and the topics discussed in this community will focus on both modern and time tested tools for doing just that.
While there are a veritable cornucopia of resources for this information you could turn to Check Engine Light will be different in a very important way. The fundamental goal here will not be to simply to tell you what exercises to do, what food to eat, or what supplements to take. Instead, we’ll use topics in health and performance so that you learn to think more critically about them.
The Check Engine Light started as an analogy I used to help get my clients whether operators, athletes, or executives to think in a systematic way about taking care of themselves with the long game in mind. It then became a course curriculum that has been taught to hundreds of these operators through the Navy Seal Foundation’s Warrior Fitness Program.
The information I’ll share here in this Substack is the culmination of over two decades helping people feel better, perform better, and recover from injury. It also represents my continued commitment and unrelenting curiosity (sorry TJ) to discover the best practices in human health and performance.
I want this to be the beginning of a conversation that I have with you, my audience. A constructive conversation where we can help each other be better for ourselves and for those around us. My sincere hope is that the articles I share here will facilitate productive conversations from which we can all grow together.
